Fear
Factor: The second season premiered on January
7, 2002. Bobbing for plumbs in a snake filled container
was the grossest competition in the season premiere.
New
York Times critic Caryn James called Fear Factor
"a terrible show." However, I found it to be rather
entertaining. :)
The
Rats
from the first season premiere were raised in a laboratory,
according to executive producer Matt Kunitz. He said, they
"are as clean as rats can be." I assume that they
were also tame as rats can be, too.
First
season premiere:
Contestants were dragged by a horse, were covered with 400
live rats and had to climb around the water-slicked hood
of a car suspended hundreds of feet in the air from a crane.
The show won its Monday time slot in last week's Nielsen
ratings.
