By BILL BRIOUX -- Toronto Sun Tonight's two-hour finale to Survivor: Pearl Islands brings to a close the best Survivor ever. This seventh edition of the hit reality series, still the No. 1 show in Canada, will probably be remembered for two players: Rupert Boneham, the bearded, fog-voiced scalawag who will sit on tonight's jury (and who will be among the 18 past champs and other favourites competing in All-Star Survivor, which begins Feb. 1) and Jon "Jonny Fairplay" Dalton, one of tonight's final four and the player who may go down as the biggest jerk in the history of the series.


Treachery keeps 'Survivor' afloat in seventh season

By Todd Camp Star-Telegram Staff Writer Every time we've written off Survivor, executive producer Mark Burnett has concocted some new gimmick to suck us back in. With Survivor's seventh season ending tonight in a two-hour finale, we're reminded of the clever premise under which it began. The 16 contestants were assembled aboard a ship off the shore of one of the Pearl Islands in Panama. Believing they'd been called for a photo shoot, the group was divided into tribes and then thrown overboard with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
