Brianna Banished

he reasons are as diverse as the contestants. She plotted too much. He was too lazy. He cannot be trusted. She argues too much. He stole food. She voted against me. Over the ten seasons of 'Survivor' we've seen all manner of motives for why people are fed headfirst into the proverbial wood-chipper but...not knowing a basketball play? Now, that's original. To be fair, Brianna Varela was sent to Loser Island for more than just not knowing the play Stephenie Lagrossa called during the Immunity Challenge. In a game where perception is everything, Brianna, the make-up artist from Washington, was seen as a girly-girl who would be better off in a shopping mall sipping a coffee than eating creepy crawlies in a hellhole of a Guatemalan jungle. Whether that assessment was valid or not makes no difference. The cruel environment these Survivors are in favours the those who are strong of will or body which is probably why Guatemala was chosen as the setting to begin with.

Colby in Red Eye
Posted by Dundee on 2005-08-22

Most people remember Colby Donaldson as the guy who pretty much handed over the million-dollar Survivor: The Australian Outback prize to Tina Wesson, but now he is out to prove that nice guys don't always finish last. While many of Colby's fellow reality alumni are toiling away on Kill Reality or Battle of the Network Reality Stars, he is featured in Red Eye, the new Wes Craven thriller opening in theaters this weekend. Colby, who also surprised more than a few people with his comedic timing on a superb episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, gives TVGuide.com the story of how he's managed to outwit and outlast all those other former Survivors who are actor wannabes.

Survivor Guatemala Cast To Be Revealed on The Early Show
Posted by Dundee on 2005-08-10

CBS News' The Early Show will announce the cast for the newest edition of CBS' popular reality series Survivor Guatemala: The Maya Empire on Thursday, Aug. 11 (7:00-9:00 AM, ET/PT). The 11th edition of the Emmy Award-winning series debuts on Thursday, Sept. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). However, some reality TV websites have already revealed some very interesting possible cast members. The website Survivor Phoenix (via RealityBlurred.com) has listed ten potential cast members. At least three of the names should sound very familiar to many people. Bobby Jon Drinkard and Stephenie LaGrossa, who appeared on the recent Survivor: Palau, are listed by Survivor Phoenix as Survivor Guatemala players. If this report is accurate, then perhaps CBS took pity on them being stuck on the worst Survivor team ever and is giving them a second chance. Perhaps the most surprising name on the list though is a former NFL quarterback. Gary Hogeboom, who at one time played for the Dallas Cowboys, is rumored to be a contestant on Survivor Guatemala. The possibility of Gary Hogeboom being a part of Survivor has also been reported in the Detroit Free Press and on Fox Sports. (Courtesy Reality TV Magazine)
