Ralphie May is having a great year
Posted by david on 2003-08-05

Ralphie May says, "This year is going to be my best comedy year of all time." He also said, "This is the first time in my life I've gone two months with a comma in my bank account." Not only was he paid for appearing on the show, but he is a bigger draw in the comedy clubs, since the show aired. In the Houston Chronicle article, Ralphie May talks about the editing of the show, his car accident when he was a teenager, his stomach stapling and more. With respect to the competition, he said that he and Vos are neck and neck. Beyond that, he thinks the order of finish should be Kahaney, Drake, then Phan. "That's the way it went down in the room that night," he said. But "as far as America goes," May foresees Phan winning overall, followed by either him or Vos, then Drake, then Kahaney.

There are only professional comics left in the house
Posted by david on 2003-07-28

In a recent interview with Dat Phan, Dat said, "There’s nothing but professionals left in the house. Rob Cantrell’s done it for three to five years. Tere has done it for I think less than five years. I don’t know how long Sean’s done it but I’d imagine less than five years. I’ve been doing it for seven years, but those three are gone. Now you’re talking about Dave Mordal: nine years, and he’s hilarious. Rich Vos: twenty years! What the heck is he doing on this show? This is almost like an amateur thing, not professionals. Otherwise they’ve have like Richard Jeni in the house. Corey Kahaney: I think twelve years. Ralphie May: fifteen years. Geoff Brown – “Star Search” winner: fifteen years. I’m not asking for pity votes, not by far. I’m just saying let America be aware that these guys are professionals. Look up Google, look up IMDB; they will have an entire list of shows they’ve been on, so that’s how the odds are stacked. And then it’s five against one - five of them against me. I just wanted America to be aware that if these guys chased me out - that against a guy that has no manager, no agency, no credits, versus five people who are professional comics, but they decide to take out the weakest guy on the totem pole? That’s like saying that you’re a Navy Seal and you go after Screech from “Saved By The Bell” and kill him."

Rob Cantrell challenges Ralphie May
Posted by david on 2003-07-09

Rob Cantrell was voted least funniest inthe house, and he challenged Ralphie May. Ralphie May got 85 percent of the votes, and therefore Rob Cantrell was evicted from the house. Dat Phan was immune, this week, since he came up with the funniest bit for a TV sit-com. Geoff Brown promised Ralphie May that he would vote for Rob. However, Geoff voted for Cory Kahaney because he did not want Rob to challenge him. Look like Dat and Geoff are the one's who are least liked in the house.

Tere Joyce is eliminated

Five comics said that they were funner than Tere, this week. Tere had been criticised for being lazy by Cory Kahaney--Cory was doing the dishes all of the time. Since Tere was kind of pissed at Cory, Tere challenged Cory to see who was the funnier. Tere went first, and she was funny. But, she was not as funny as Cory. The audience voted 82 percent for Cory. Earlier, Tess won the competition and was safe this week. Tess recuited more people on the street to come to a comedy show. Everyone says that Tess is a big threat.
