For five weeks, the Okins twins have been switching in and out of CBS' popular summer reality show Big Brother 5, pretending to be one person. So far, none of the 13 contestants, who are sequestered in a house on a CBS studio lot in Los Angeles until the Sept. 21 finale, has caught on.

The eviction of one of the four horsemen (Scott) and the reveal of the twin twist (Adria and Natalie) lifted BIG BROTHER 5 to its most watched Thursday broadcast, according to final Nielsen ratings for Aug. 5. BIG BROTHER 5 THURSDAY was first in households (6.3/12), viewers (9.53m), adults 25-54 (4.1/13), adults 18-49 (3.7/13) and adults 18-34 (3.4/13). This is BIG BROTHER 5 THURSDAY's best delivery in adults 25-54 and matches its best deliveries in adults 18-34 and adults 18-49.


BB5 Evicts Allegheny Township Native

Scott Long says he'd like the chance to compete on another reality show, even though his dreams didn't come true on "Big Brother 5." Long, an Allegheny Township native and Shadyside resident, on Thursday was the fourth of the original 13 house guests to be voted off the CBS television show. A member of the "Four Horsemen" -- an alliance formed with three other men on the show -- Long said Friday he thought he had secured enough votes to prevent his eviction.

GILPIN -- Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night, Donna and Henry Long tune in to CBS to watch "Big Brother 5." Donna Long also watches the live web casts that allow viewers to see behind-the-scenes action. She scours the Internet for commentary on the show. Although it may seem like the Longs have an unhealthy obsession with the reality television show, they have a good reason: Their 25-year-old son Scott is one of the 13 contestants vying for the show's grand prize of $500,000.


Big Brother 5 Nielson Ratings Revealed

The first two episodes of Big Brother had 9.5 and 9.2 million viewers for the first two episodes. Big Brother placed 12th and 13th behind other CBS shows which had 8 of the top 10 spots on the Nielson Charts. The Amazing Race faired just a little better in 10th place with 10.3 million viewers. For Love or Money 3 was 16 on the chart with 8.9 million viewers and Last Comic Standing 2 barely made the top 20 in 19th place bringing in 8.4 million viewers.


'Big Brother 5' contrived, cruel

CBS' "Big Brother 5" debuted Tuesday night as one of the more contrived and cruel of reality shows to air in recent memory on a major broadcast network. It's not enough that producers have confined 13 people in a house for up to 90 days. They felt such a need to manipulate and humiliate contestants it made the Jerry Springer show seem like reality.
