Millions voted this week, and even John Stevens received 4 million votes. However, it was not enough to keep him in the competiton. The 16 year old from Amherst, NY was the weakest link. The other two in the bottom three were George Huff and Jasmine Trias. Jasmine was the first declaired safe. In the end, John went home and George stays for another week.
This week, the bottom three were the three divas. Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino and La Toya London. La Toya was the first to be declaired safe, and despite the fact that the judges said that Jennifer had the best performance of the season, last night, she received the least amount of vote. So, good bye to the 22 year old from Chicago.
Camile Velasco & Jasmine Trias were the two who received the least amount of votes, this week. Diana DeGarmo was in the bottom three. Camile was obviously the weakest link; so, "good bye." I just wish that Camile had not beat out the big guy, Matthew Rogers, in a the earlier rounds.
The 24 year old from Bakersfield, California, Amy Adams, is the latest contestant to be eliminated from American Idol 3. The other two receiving the least number of votes were Jennifer Hudson and La Toya London. Randy said that at least two of the contestants did not deserve to be the bottom three. He was likely talking about Jennifer Hudson and La Toya London. La Toya was the first to be declaired safe. Then, Amy was eliminated. Amy sang "Dancing in the Street."
On Tuesday's show, Simon was shown a couple of times shooting the finger. It looked like that he might have done it by accident, but why would someone prop their face up with their middle finger? Anyway, Camile Velasco, Matthew Rogers and Diana DeGarmo had the least number of votes on the Wednesday night show. The youngest at 16, Diana DeGarmo, was the first to be announced safe. So, it was down to the 25 year old Matthew and 18 year old Carmile. As it turns out, Matthew Rogers receive the least number of votes, and he was out. Simon said that he made a very poor song selecting with “Amazed.”
The three with the least number of votes where Leah LaBelle, Jennifer Hudson and Amy Adams. Amy was the first to be told that she was safe. Then, Leah and Jennifer performed once more for the audience. Randy said that he was very surprised to see Jennifer in the bottom three, since she is one of the best singers among the 12 finalist. In the end, Leah received the least amount of votes, and Jennifer will return next week.
NewsDay music reviewer, Rafer Guzman, was not impressed with Clay's and Kelly's performance. He criticised them from not producing bold, original music, and he says that they are NOT artists. He says that they are "young, talented, likable" but aside from that they are owned by the same management company, record label and songwriters-for-hire. Kelly is attempted to break some from her school-girl image. In her latest concert, Kelly played the tomboy in ragged jeans and a functional ponytail. However, she barely spoke during her 50-minute set. On the other hand, Clay's between-song patter "was far more charming than his music." Clay's set plodded along with mostly mid-tempo ballads and gentle pop numbers designed to accentuate his wounded-puppy image. After a short while, his songs became a blur of similar-sounding plaints such as "I've been hurt way too many times" or "I survived you." The only break was an ill-advised cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry." When Aiken tried to purr, "The sweat of your body covers me," we discovered at least one thing about his personality: He can't funk.
