On December 8, Andrew and Jen announced that they were over. They had been engaged and living together in San Francisco. In a statement, Firestone said, "This is a decision we made together through long and thoughtful discussion. It is totally amicable and, though we care for each other deeply, we have come to realize that our future goals are different.... Our love for each other was genuine, but we confronted the same challenges as any other couple trying to make a relationship work day to day." She apparently found the constant media attention difficult to adjust to. He found it a challenge to give up his single status.

Andrew and Jen reveal that Jen is moving to San Francisco, and that they will live together temporarily while Jen looks for a place of her own. The two have not set a wedding date, but Andrew said that he feels like the lucky one. They plan to continue their relationship and see where it leads. Kirsten revealed that Andrew had already made up his mind by the final date and that she was pretty confident that she would not receive the final rose. Kirsten felt that Andrew was highly influenced by his brother, and she confronted Andrew and asked why he did not ask her directly about her ex-boyfriend. Andrew just said that he was embarrassed by the whole thing. During the show, Jen said that Kirsten is not a very warm person, and Kirsten described Jen as a “plain Jane.” The next bachelor will be Bob from the Bachelorette.

Andrew made the right decision and chose Jen over Kirsten. Oh that whiny, nasal voice and her flat affectivity! I am talking about Kirsten, of course. For some reason, I did not find Kirsten to be completely sincere. As she was meeting Andrew’s family, Kirsten acted like she was being interviewed for a job. She talked rapidly and in a monotone voice. However, Jen was much more real and more comfortable with Andrew’s family. Andrew was also much more relaxed around Jen. In the end, Andrew was not impressed that Kirsten did not totally break off her relationship with her former boyfriend before coming onto the show. After he broke the news to Kirsten, she cried in the limo as it took her away. Then, Andrew got down on one knee and proposed to Jen. He professed his love for her, and she professed her love for him. They both said that they thought that they were perfect for each other.

| Tina is not offered a rose

The front runner seems to be Jen. Perhaps because Andrew was the most at home at the blue-collar bowling alley--I think he brought his own bowling ball--Andrew’s best date was with Jen. For Tina and Kirsten, it seemed to be more about who is the better woman and not so much about winning Andrew. Kirsten was definitely the most manipulative and catty of the three. While Andrew continually said, “This date is about us,” Kirsten was determined to find out how she stacked up to the other girls. Finally, when Andrew asked her what she thought of the other two girls, you could see her cat claws coming out. However, she restrained herself and just took a single jab at Tina, saying that Tiny was immature. Kirsten seemed to willing to go all the way in order to win Andrew. Tina continued to be more reserved. When Andrew and Tina were in the hot tub together, she told him to be sure and keep his hands to himself. So, in the end, it was Tina who was not offered a rose. She took it badly. As Andrew walked Tina to the curb, Tina gave new meaning to the phrase "ice queen." In the limo, Tina said that her goal was to have a "fabulous" life, and she could not envision a fabulous life with Andrew.

Andrew met the families of the four remaining women. But, even though Cristina was completely sold on Andrew, Andrew was turned off by her aggressiveness. Cristina was totally shocked when she did not receive a rose, after all, she and Andrew had made out like a couple of High School sweethearts. She told Andrew that he was "making the biggest mistake of his life." Haven't we heard that before? Previously, she said, "I can see Andrew and I having kids together." Andrew was a gentleman, saying nice things, as he walked he walked Cristina to the curb. But, Cristina still bawled in the limo. Later, she cried age discrimination, saying that she was the older woman. Next week, Andrew goes on overnight fantasy dates with the three remaining women. The previews show Andrew making out with all three women.
