Synopsis:
As 24 people (12 teams to two) race around the world, they'll
face a series of mental and physical hurdles before they can
move on to the next destination. They will not have the aid
of cell phones, and they are allowed to carry only a limited
amount of cash. The teams will travel by air, buses, trains,
taxis, bicycles, camels and so on. Along the way, teams will
encounter "Road Blocks." A Road Block is a task
that must be completed before they can advance. Teams may
also choose to go after a single "Fast Forward."
Fast Forwards allow a team to by-pass the Road Blocks and
go straight to that leg's final destination. There is only
one Fast Forward on each leg, and each team may only win one
Fast Forward throughout the entire race. Only when a leg of
the race has been completed will they find out where they
are going next. At nine points throughout the race, the last
team to arrive will be eliminated. The team that arrives at
the final destination first wins $1 million--it's a 25,000-mile
global journey. The race takes 30 to 40 days to complete.
