The
new producer of Big Brother 2, Arnold Shapiro, said that
he expects nudity, romance, lust and passion and that
he selected the house guests with the intention of creating
an "uninhibited, free-spirited group."
In
an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shapiro said
that there were three times as many applicants for the
new Big Brother 2 as there were for Big Brother 1. And
this year, there was "a major emphasis placed on
casting." And with this group, he said that "nudity,
romance, lust or passion... is more likely with this group
of people than with casts we have seen on other reality
programs."
Apparently,
Shapiro knows that sex sells. In an interview with the
New York Post, he said, "they're a very uninhibited
group--I suspect that it is likely that there will be
nudity, and I suspect that it is likely that there will
be sex." Moreover, he said, "We will show as
much as we can, we might have to do some blurring."
Two
of the women, Autumn and Krista, are prime candidates
for lust and nudity. Autumn stated her audition tape that
"the number one reason why I should be cast on Big
Brother is because I can cause major sexual tension and
drama among the house mates." And in an interview
with the Early Show, Krista sates, "Let's get naked;
I don't mind at all...."
Some
of the men can also be quite uninhibited. In his audition
tape, Mike, a 30 year-old, single guy from LA, stated
that he "plans to sleep with a few of the girls."
There
will be no prudes on this season's show. The main sleeping
quarters has Plexiglas separating the two rooms. In fact,
the producers are so eager for sex that they are putting
the house mates in coed bedrooms.
Shapiro
also revealed that there will be increased tension in
the house. He wants tension, and they have designed the
house and the rules so that there will be a lot of tension.
For example, the beds are all different. The beds range
from Army cots to a king-size waterbed. The house guests
will have to fight over the beds. Secondly, the house
guests will have to compete for food. The losers will
be forced to eat peanut butter, jelly, bread and water,
while the winners can feast on steak.
Shapiro
states, "Each of them has said they will do whatever
it takes to win." And he awaits to see the lengths
to which the house guests will go to win the $500,000
prize.
