When not in the BigBrother house, Hardy resides in Miami Beach, where he works as a bouncer at a club called Opium Garden (formerly called Amnesia).

The club scene

Opium Garden (136 Collins Ave.) is quite the South Beach night spot. It has been called the biggest and hottest club in Miami. It has a full restaurant and Sushi bar upstairs, but the main stay is the dance music. House Trance and Hip Hop are what the DJs are spinning, and it is all done under an open sky. A cool mist sprays your body as you dance under the stars. Mike only wishes that his club is this cool.

Opium Garden is one of South Beach's five star clubs. You had better dress up when you go to Opium or you might have to wait quite a while to get in. There are always people standing behind the velvet rope, waiting to get into the club. Open from 10:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Thurs. through Sat.), you can dance the night away, but be prepared to pay $20 at the door to get in.

Did I forget to mention that there are erotic dancers in the restaurant area? The bar area features such innovations as hydraulic tables, a wind tunnel and low-rolling fog across the bar. The man

But, Hardy is not the wild man, by any means. Hardy was raised by his grandparents in the conservative town to York, Pennsylvania. Ester and Donald Dillon raised Hardy and his older brother Brady until they went off to college. Brady is two years older than Hardy.

According to the York Daily Record, when Hardy was young, he had a bit of a complex about his body. His father said that Hardy had a "chicken breast" as a boy. Hardy was so concerned about his small chest that he had his father take him to the doctor when he was 11 or 12. Of course the doctor just said that his chest would get bigger with age and he recommended exercise. So, Hardy started working out so that his chest will fill out. Now, at age 31, Hardy stands 6-foot-2-inch, weighs 185-pounds, has a 33-inch waist and has 6 percent body fat.

Ester and Donald were strict with their grandsons, and they were raised in a rather conservative home, just off Edgar Street in York. Their goal was to see Hardy grow up and become successful. And, they very much wanted both Hardy and Brady to attend college. They got their wish— Brady went to Boston University, Hardy attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
