The Many Two Faces of Survivor

The Many Two-Faces of Survivor.
Survivor certainly has become boring and predictable. I must say it’s awfully disappointing to get this far into the game with no surprises or interesting twists. According to the media sources, the castaways don’t find out about Jon’s terrible lie until after the show is over. That unfortunately leaves the game very boring.
This weeks episode had a lot of scheming on all sides. Sandra and Christa want Darrah, Jon and Lil want Darrah, Burton wants Christa, and everyone is willing to cut off their own arm in hopes of staying on the island. Even Christa, who seemingly was so tight with Sandra is willing to sacrifice her in hopes of making it to the final four. The final four, and two were on everyone’s lips tonight. This far in the game, that is where their sights are.
The reward challenge this week was a relay race. The Survivors were split into two teams of three. Sandra, Christa and Burton on one team; Lil, Darrah, and Jon on the other.
The object of the challenge was to swim through the water course collecting paddles, running to the beach getting their boat and paddling back to the starting line. Sandra, the weakest of the swimmers, drew the first obstacle position. This hurt her team, because she had the most swimming to do. Lil drew first on the opposing side, and faired very well in the challenge.
The second strings were Darrah and Christa. Lil gained such a lead for her team, that as well as Christa did was moot. Darrah, Lil, and Jon won the challenge. The reward, was a trip to a luxury spa for 24 hours, equipped with food, showers, pajamas, massages, and of course a chance to strategize.
Back at camp, Sandra and Christa confronted Burton on the alliance Jon had made with them to save Burton. Burton, said he knew nothing about it and refused to comment at all. At the spa, Jon was promising Darrah final two, after Lil refused to discuss strategy any more. When the survivors returned to camp, (empty handed I would like to add) Burton and Jon put their heads together and discussed who between Darrah or Christa they would rather have. Burton preferred Christa while Jon preferred Darrah. They said they were playing “good cop, bad cop”. Jon was the one that everyone hated, and Burton is the one that everyone likes. Hopefully, the strategy backfires on them next week. It was never said, but it is my assumption that the two men would decide who would make their final four based on which one won immunity.
The immunity challenge consisted of shooting a pirate musket, with a flare, and burning three targets. Christa, Darrah, and Burton all pulled ahead of the others. Being the first to score, and score repeatedly. Some, like Jon and Lil, and eventually, just Jon, couldn’t score to save their lives. Wow, Jon rides coat tails better than a cowboy rides a Bronco. Darrah wins immunity by one shot.
Back at camp, Sandra and Christa confront Darrah on who she is going to vote out. Christa and Sandra are gunning for Burton, but Darrah tells them no. She says that everyone is voting for Lil, and that Jon is in the process of telling Lil right then. Of course, Jon isn’t. He did a whole lot of swearing on his grandmother’s grave these past 2 episodes. I hope that people’s tolerance for that soon runs out. With all the lying he is doing, he certainly is forcing a whole lot of bad karma on dear old granny. At tribal council, Jeff asked if the Survivors had lied to anyone. The basic feeling was everyone had to lie at some point to get further in the game. The next question was if everyone trusted their alliances and they all answered yes. Christa was voted out 4-2, with only her alliance with Sandra staying true til the end.
There really isn’t much else to comment on in this episode. It was unfortunately completely predictable and boring.
