I really like Steve & Dave. I don't want them to be eliminated this week. It's obvious they cannot outrun the young squirts, but, it wasn't the inability to run that caused their near demise this week.
Why, Oh WHY, did they not ask the person at the ticket counter if the information they had just received from the local gentleman was fact or fiction? Surely the man employed by the train system would know (or could look up) whether a train to Padua would actually yield a connection to Vienna. They are intelligent guys with a lot of life experience. There wasn't a long line of people waiting to get to the man behind the counter. It was the dead hours of the night. All they had to do was turn around, tell the man they were trying to find a faster route to Vienna, repeat the suggestion from the local, and ask if that was a good alternate plan.
Yeah, I know hindsight is great. I'm a good back seat driver too, but I just had to get that out of my system. Maybe the man at the counter couldn't speak English. I guess that would explain it. Bummer! I want Steve & Dave to be in this race longer.
