Hamsters!

Now keep in mind that I could be way off on every initial impression that I've had regarding this year's Big Brother house guests. Obviously I only know what CBS has revealed, much like everyone else, so I'm sure there's bound to be a few surprises when Big Brother 5 premiers on July 6th. Let's get to it...

Adria - The soccer-mom with the heart of gold. The moment I read her Q&A at cbs.com I immediately pictured her to be the first to go along with someone’s plan to be nominated as the decoy in an attempt to oust someone else, but having it backfire (as it usually happens). On the plus side she does claim to be a great cook, which is always an important strategic quality for any contestant to have. She just better hope the others think so as well.

Diane - She lists her biggest fear as she begins Big Brother as "snotty girls being in the house". Evidently she's counting on there not being any mirrors in the Big Brother house this time around. She's the bitch of the bunch this year and would be an excellent choice as someone a smarter player will use to do their dirty work for them.

Drew - He seems to believe he has a mental edge over the other contestants because he's a "recent college graduate", as is listed as his occupation. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. One thing we know for sure is that book smarts does not a Big Brother champion make. Just ask Roddy.

Holly - This years young attractive blonde who will almost always be shown working out or lounging by the pool in an attempt to get ratings. Despite that she is my choice to be this year's freak. It's a bit of a dark horse pick, I know, but c'mon, how often do you see the potential to be the 'crazy ol' cat-lady' at such a young age? Exactly, you don't!

Jase - Ah, a wise guy eh? I guess Jase is intended to be this year’s comic relief, unfortunately I'm getting the Mike Boogie vibe from him. Jokers in the Big Brother house are usually loved or hated so he has the chance to go pretty far or could be evicted really early. Seacrest out!

Jennifer - The overly judgemental stubborn insomniac who likes to play mind games and is willing to stab everyone and anyone in the back! By far my favourite house guest so far. Creating waves is a sure-fire way to get evicted but at least she has the willingness to make it interesting. There's also a good chance someone may strategically take her far in the game, using her to do their dirty work for them.

Karen - The mom with attitude! Perhaps this years Danielle? She'll most likely be a hit with the other house guests at first, but if she lets her attitude or competitiveness get out of hand she'll become an instant target. It will be interesting to see if there's any competitiveness when it comes to Adria and the coveted 'mom' role, as the contestant filling that role often goes pretty far in the game.

Lori - Too bad yoga doesn't stretch the mind or your personality. I'm predicting that she'll be this years Michelle, going along with whatever anyone tells her until she's no longer needed, at which point she'll be voted out.

Marvin - My second favourite at this point. Strong black male reality TV contestants are certainly a rarity and the few times they have shown up they haven't lasted too long, here's hoping that Marvin ends that cycle, you can never have too many house guests who are ready willing and able to say what they want and stab people in the back. I also get a bit of the freak vibe with this one, the eyes in his picture follow me around the room.

Michael - Yee-haw! Who doesn't like a cowboy? Unfortunately for him he seems a little too nice and too trusting for the Big Brother house. He also falls into the potential 'decoy gone awry' category, I don't expect him to go too far.

Mike - He tries to come across as a competitive mastermind type, but there's something I can't quite put my finger on that tells me maybe he's trying a little too hard to appear tough. I think he'll fall into the 'dad' role in the house really quickly, how could an evil mastermind miss 'Ice tea with Realemon lemon juice' more than anything else?

Scott - Because the ladies need some eye candy too. His preoccupation with 'fame' and 'exposure' tells me he isn't there to play the game, and he doesn't appear to have a whole lot in the brains department so I predict that, like Lori, the other house guests will evict him when it's convenient for them.

Will - Fabulous! Considering the fact that he lists his personal hero as San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and worships Oprah as a hobbie, I think it's safe to say that Will is this year's gay house guest. He could possibly end up being the comic relief as he seems to have a good sense of humour and, IMO anyway, appears to be less obnoxious than Jase.
