Burton Backstabs, Lil Lies, and Sweet Ryan goes Sour.

This weeks episode shows our first look a few days into the newly merged Balboa tribe. All is not goodness and light at their lovely tribe. The former Drake members feel the former Morgan members are lazy. The former Morgan members are still feeling Drakes sting from last weeks eviction of Morgan leader Andrew. ( I am too! My poor Chicago cutie!) Lil is still on a mission to prove her strength and worth, which is shown tenfold in this episode. Not only does Lil outperform everyone in the camp chores arena with collecting wood, getting water, etc. but she also proves her power in her performance during challenges.
I think that the main reason Morgan does not get along with Lil, and hasn’t from the beginning is because those spry youngsters are constantly being out-performed by an old crazy woman. They need to find any excuse possible as to why she is not better than them, even though we all know she is. Now, Morgan is jealous because Lil not only has the support and admiration of her newly merged tribe, but she also seems to have her hand in the designated pecking order.
This weeks reward challenge, consisted of breaking a series of plates with a slingshot. Survivors were broken in supposed randomly drawn groups; though it seems odd to me that the strongest players were all in a group together, and the best of each heat went on to the final round. Rupert won the reward challenge beating out Lil in a very close competition. Jeff didn’t hold back in his one liner zingers, landing one on the constantly under-performing Jon ( commenting that once again Jon can not complete a challenge). Why the heck is he still here anyways. Someone needs to flush him clear out of the game.
The reward challenge was a breakfast buffet on a secluded island. Rupert had the choice of taking another tribe mate, or passing off the breakfast entirely. Rupert decided to pass it to Burton, in return for the immunity he passed to him last week. Burton chooses to take Lil and the next morning they are off. In the biggest, most shocking swing this season, Burton suggests to Lil that they oust Rupert. Hello Burton, need help planting that knife? I know, the back can be a really tough area to drive one home into. What a complete bastard! Rupert just got finished handing over a really good prize to you, and you stab him in the back by suggesting to take him out. Lil then agrees with Burton and tells him she will do anything he wants. However, she has a problem with having to lie. Burton and Lil return to camp, empty handed I might add, not only are the backstabbing bastards, but they are selfish, back-stabbing bastards. Now, my thinking on this little island adventure. Two minutes before the reward challenge Rupert says he will do anything to make sure that the Morgan tribe gets some meat on their bones. He says they are totally emaciated and need to eat as much as possible if they can ever hope to compete fairly against the Drakes. Why on earth then, does Rupert hand over his breakfast buffet to not only a Drake, but a Drake who has been away from the game, but able to feast to his hearts desire at some resort away from the game. Lil and Burton were the least deserving, and least needing of the refill of foods.
Back at camp, mutiny is found in every corner. Sandra and Christa are discussing getting rid of Rupert. Then they bring Darrah and Tijuana into their discussion to make it an all girls final four. Jon and Burton discuss getting Rupert as well. The whole island has one mind set, get rid of Rupert.
The immunity challenge consisted of a series of questions regarding the island. With each question that was answered correctly, the survivors could put a coconut in someone else’s five tray stand, and after that person collected five coconuts they were out of the game. What surprised me the most about this immunity challenge, was for a bunch of people so dead set on getting rid of Rupert, not one was brave enough to make the move. Instead opting to take out Ryan O and then slowly taking bites at each other. For the first time, Sandra and Jon’s obvious dislike for each other is capitalized and laid out right in the open. With each taking the other out. Comments were made, fingers were flipped and yes, it was established they obviously have nothing but disdain for each other. I would too, if I had to see that greasy blond mop, crooked teeth, and listen to that obnoxious voice every single waking hour. I would be flipping him more than a bird. A question was posed regarding which explorer burned the city of Panama to the ground. It was the explorer Morgan, and only one of the Morgans answered that question correctly. I would have thought if a tribe was named after someone, they would have paid a bit more attention to Jeff’s little daily history lessons. Lil, in a horrible attempt to cover for her lies, cites Burton’s lack of attention to her at the breakfast as the reason for voting for him, not once but twice. Yeah, I think that pretty much screams “alliance”. Rupert beats Christa for immunity.
Back at camp, there is more scheming. Everyone’s plans are thrown out the window with Rupert’s immunity win. The question that hangs in the air, will it be Jon? Or Ryan? Or maybe even Christa? At tribal council, questions are posed that puts everyone on the defensive. Lil says she feels welcomed by her new team, and normally sweet Ryan is shown behind her rolling his eyes. Christa says flat out that the Morgans are lazy and don’t help at camp. Darrah brings out the claws in a rebuttal, defending her work ethic and the ethic of the other Morgans. Voting begins and in a surprising “ouch” by Ryan he votes for Christa (which he mis-spelled) and calls her a “bitch”. Looks like Ryan has a set of claws himself. Ryan is voted out, and the venom continues to spew in his goodbye speech. Not only does he tell everyone to “watch their backs” as he is walking off the set, but in his interview he wishes the Morgan tribe luck, then specifies Tijuana and Darrah, not so much Lil. And his last ominous words are “Don’t forget, I’m in the jury now.”
Next weeks previews show mutiny as the group decides to stick together on what we can only assume is the booting of Rupert. Lil is shown crying and her “ultimate betrayal”. My guess is she goes to Rupert and tells him what the rest of the tribe is planning on doing. It looks like next week will be an interesting one.
