In Defense of Roddy

If anyone reads any of my threads, it's so obvious that Roddy's my favorite houseguest! He's played a great game, and seems like such a great guy, I don't think I've seen him do anything really horrible, like I've seen in all the others- even Jason (who is my 2nd favorite)!!! But since I like Roddy so much, I think maybe I unconsciously overlook his sneaky ways. I'm going to be really sad if he leaves this week, I think he and Jason are the only two who've been nice and kind to everyone. But I think Roddy's time is coming to an end- he's already dodged two bullets, I just don't think he can keep it up week after week- even if he survives this week, he's a marked man. So, I just want to say a few words why I think Roddy's getting a bum deal:

1) Roddy's a Huge threat- true, because he's good-looking, nice, smart, and everyone likes him. But Danielle is seen as a power now, but no one has done a thing about it- I think the others are sort of scared of her, how she'll react when she's nominated.

2) Roddy the Leader- it's funny how everyone thinks he's this "mastermind" where everyone does whatever he wants, and they're afraid that if they keep him, he'll keep winning HOH and get rid of them first. Roddy is a leader, but he doesn't have as much power as people think. In the Alliance of 6, Josh and Gerry appeared to be the ones making the decisions. Roddy didn't like being nominated by Chiara, but she did it anyway. Winning HOH- I thought for sure he needed to win the last two to ensure his survival, but he hasn't done it. HOH is more luck than skill, so almost everyone has an equal chance- but the other HGs are so scared of him, they perceive him as having more power than he actually has.

3) Lies- Roddy's never been caught in any- I don' think he's made too many, while Danielle, Marcellus, and even Jason has lied about stuff. From what I've seen, if Roddy makes deals- he honors them.

4) Roddy's deals- all the HGs see Roddy as sneaky, making deals with everyone to take them to the end- and that's part of the reason why they think he's so sneaky. But in all honesty, they're all making deals. Roddy's first alliance was with the 6, but some of them got evicted, so of course he had to make other deals. The boy's alliance with Eric and Josh- R & E both knew Josh would turn on them eventually, so Roddy invited Jason to take his place- I don't blame Roddy for that, because Josh did turn on them later (when Josh and Roddy were both nominated together). All the HGs should know that alliances have to be altered when parts of your alliance get evicted!!! So, the fact that Roddy keeps making deals doesn't make him sneaky, it makes him smart.

5) Trust- this one really isn't fair, because everyone is wheeling and dealing, not just Roddy- so why is he the only one that get's called on it? For example, I thought it was hypocritical for Jason to feel hurt that Roddy didn't trust him (when Roddy was nominated against Chiara)- Jason has lied to Roddy more than once, and Jason has long talked in DR about getting Roddy out ASAP. He would've done it when Roddy was nominated against Chiara, if Danielle hadn't said "opposite." And Jason feels hurt that Roddy doesn't trust him??? Makes no sense. Aside: and I thought it was horrible how Danielle, Marcellus, and Lisa tried to strong-arm Jason into voting out Roddy, by telling him Roddy was telling everyone he didn't trust him, and wanted him out. Roddy never said that- Roddy told people he was hurt that Jason lied to him, which was true- I think Roddy told other HGs this because (1) he was hurt by it, and (2) Roddy thought he had enough votes to save Eric, and when it didn't happen, he was upset that he didn't get to say good-bye to Eric.

6) Revenge- I mentioned before that I thought Lisa's need for revenge against Roddy was unfair, but most on here said that Lisa isn't gunning for Roddy out of revenge, she's just playing the game- but after her mean farewell message to Gerry, I think it's clear that she harbors a grudges against those that she feels wronged her. She still hasn't forgiven Roddy for supposedly turning Chiara against her. But it's so unfair- when Lisa and Eric were nominated, Roddy wasn't anti-Lisa and trashing her, he was more pro-Eric, there's a difference there. For example, when Gerry was HOH and he nominated Roddy and Chiara instead- who do you think Lisa would've campaigned to save, Roddy or Chiara? Chiara, right?!!! At that time, they were still friends. If that had been the case, I'm pretty sure Roddy would NOT hold a grudge against Lisa, he would've seen it as part of the game.

Oh well, my pro-Roddy speech has gone on too long- sorry!
