Jason & Kara

Jason professed his love for Kara, but Kara said that she needed some independence. She still claimed that she loved him, but she wanted to part and go their separate ways. She said that Jason has a lot of growing up to do. Jason, once again, professed his love for Kara, but he said that he will “live on.” However, despite what Kara said at the final bonfire about wanting her independence, in the closing report, Kara and Jason “rekindled their relationship” and they are still living together in Las Vegas.

Michael & Melissa

Michael said that he was ready to move forward and get engaged with Melissa. He seems to think that Melissa is dependent on him, but he still had butterflies. Melissa said that prior to coming on the island that she was ready to find out if Michael was “the one.” She did not want to waste any more time with him if he was not the one. Melissa said that she does love Michael, but love is not enough. She said that Michael disrespected her on the island by letting loose. Michael was smart enough to let Melissa speak first, and she said that she met someone and followed her heart. Then, Michael said that he did not choose the one that he had the biggest connection with for the final date (namely, Tiffany) because he did not want to hook up with her on the island. He wants Melissa. But, Melissa does not want him. She does not think that they should be together. Michael was hurt, and he said that he will never speak to Melissa again.

Eric & Kristin

Eric was dissed by his first choice for his final date, Ida. Ida said that she did not want to go on the final date with Eric because she had made more of a connection with one of the other men (namely, Michael)—Eric chose Kaileen for his final date. Kristen seemed to treat the island experience as a vacation, and she was not really serious about hooking up with anyone on the island. At the final bonfire, Eric spoke first, and he said that none of the girls measured up to Kristin. Kristen said that she tried to learn as much as she could from the guys, but none of the guys were Eric, so she was not interested. It was no surprise that these two chose to remain together. They said that they have a strong future together.

Anthony & Stephanie

Stephanie refused to kiss any of the single men on the island—this was her boundary. Her final date was Jeff, and they did a lot of hugging. But, Jeff respected Stephanie’s boundary. At the final bonfire, neither Anthony nor Stephanie wanted to go first. Stephanie finally went first. She said that she was disappointed in Anthony and that “you have not touched ME like that in a long time.” She thinks that Anthony would be happier on his own: “All I want is for you to be happy, and I don’t know if I make you happy.” But, she said, “I have to have you in my life in some way.” Anthony said that Stephanie makes him happy. “We are soul mates,” he said. But, then, he asked her, “You don’t want to be with me, right?” Stephanie just kept repeating, “I just want you to be happy.” Anthony said that he loved her. If this was a break up, it certainly was not a clean one. The closing report indicated that Anthony and Stephanie have split up. Stephanie moved to California and is now living with Jeff. Anthony remains in Chicago.
