Posted by david on 2002-12-20

Brian faced Clay in the final round. Clay received three votes (Erin, Ken and Penny), but Brian received four votes (Helen, Jake, Jan and Ted) to win the grand prize. Clay received $100,000 for being the second runner up. In the final show, Helen was back stabbed by Brian and Clay and voted out before Jan. Then, after winning immunity for a third straight time, Brian chose to get rid of Jan and face Clay in the final. Facing Clay in the final turned out to be a wise move.

The were plenty of surprises in the show, when the loved ones showed up to compete for the Survivors in the luxury challenge and with them in the immunity challenge. But, there was no surprises in the vote. After Ted won immunity, the Chuay Gahn Tribe voted along tribal lines, and Jake was voted out. Helen did talk to Brian about voting out Clay, at some future date, but Brian did not seem too receptive.

Penny Got the Boot

Penny got the boot on Thursday, and now Jake is the only survivor from the Sook Jai Tribe. Helen won the immunity challenge, not that she needed it. The writing was on the wall for either Jake or Penny, but Penny's luck ran out. Brian won the luxury challenge and invited Clay to go with him to a huge Thailand feast. Always on his toes, Clay brought back food and drink for the rest of the tribe. It earned him big brownie points. However, Ted was wise to the tightening bond between Clay and Brian, and seemed none too pleased.

Shii Ann is the latest to be voted off

The show began with a fake merger. The tribes were told that they could choose to live in one camp, and they chose to live in the Chuay Gahn Tribe camp. Everyone thought that the two tribes had merged, and they even came up with a name for the new tribe: "Chuay Jai." Shii Ann started making alliances with the Chuay Gahn Tribe, and she wanted to ally with Chuay Gahn to vote out Penny. But, there was no merger, and when Chuay Gahn Tribe won the Immunity Challenge, Shii Ann was unanimously voted out of the Sook Jai Tribe.

The Chuay Gahn Tribe proves to be the weaker of the two tribes, and they loose yet another tribe member. Tanya Vance is evicted by a vote of five to two--Helen got two votes. Tanya was physically weak due to dehyrdration and a lack of food. You could argue that the Chuay Gahn Tribe is just unlucky because all of the challenges have been close. Yet, the Chuay Gahn Tribe lost both the Immunity Challenge and the Luxury Challenge, this week. Sook Jai won fishing equipment in the Luxury Challenge.
