March
28:
Finally, Rotu lost a challenge, and as a result, Maraamu
gets two minutes to raid Rotu's camp and take back the spoils.
After the raid, Gabriel starts to bond a little too much
with the new Rotu members, and John confronts him. Gabriel's
response was less than a clear "I am with you,"
and so John starts trying to rally the tribe to vote off
Gabriel.
The immunity
challenge was to build a distress signal. Bolstered by their
previous win, Maraamu builds a nice distress signal and
they win immunity. Meanwhile, back at Rotu, John tells Sean
that the other four are going to vote Gabriel. That was
a big mistake, since Sean, Rob, Vecepia and Gabriel can
now vote as a block to tie the vote. However, even though
Rob approached Gabriel to vote John, Gabriel did not form
an alliance with Rob and as a result, he was voted out.
March
20:
The Big Switch: Rob, Sean and Vecepia are
now Rotu Tribe members, while Kathy, Neleh and Paschal are
now members of Maraamu. Poor Neleh, she was in tears as
she realized that she was no longer a part of the winning
Rotu Tribe, and Kathy and Paschal did not seem to happy
about their new colors either. The number of tribe members
remains the same (five on Maraamu and eight on Rutu), but
there was a random three player switch.
The switch was
good for the game, since now the Rotu members are starting
to form alliances, and Rob and Sean had the power in their
old tribe, now Rob and Sean are worried about being voted
out. Moreover, Rob, Sean and Vecepia are forced to work
now that they are Rotu members.
Once again Rotu
won the immunity challenge, and Maraamu did not have any
problem deciding who would be voted off. Sarah would be
the next to go because she was not a hard worker.
March
14: The reward challenge was a raft rescue. The
Survivors had to build their own rafts and then use the
rafts to navigate out into the ocean and pick up moored
supply boxes. Rotu was the first tribe to pick up all of
the boxes and arrive back at shore. Their reward was pillows,
blankets and lanterns.
In an effort
to make the challenges less physical, the immunity challenge
was a coconut maze. This was a close challenge. Maraamu
had the lead up until the last couple of seconds, but Rotu
was again the winner.
When faced who
to vote off, Rob, Sarah, Sean and Vecepia once again banded
together and decided to vote off the strongest member among
them, Hunter. Hunter was a threat to them because he was
such a leader and such a strong player. Now, Rob and Sean
have the power.
March
7: Rotu appears to be the stronger tribe. They
won the luxury challenge (fishing gear) and the immunity
challenge. In the Rotu camp, there appears to be some division.
For example, when Kathy collected some food, she wanted
to hold a powwow to demand that they build a shelter. However,
Gabriel and the rest of the tribe tore into her. They did,
however, end up building a shelter.
Maraamu have
been loosing all of the challenges, and the immunity challenge
was a food challenge. They had to eat some repulsive rotting
fish. Rob lost it for Maraamu. And, when they had to vote
again, Momma or Patrica was voted off the island. She was
just too bossy. The leader of the Tribe, Hunter, wanted
to vote Sarah off, and Gina and Patricia agreed and voted
for Sarah to be banished. However, the people of color (Sean
and Vecepia) joined ranks with Rob and Sarah and voted off
Patrica.
February
28: The first person to be voted off was Peter
from the Maraamu Tribe. Peter voted for Patricia, but three
of his fellow tribe members voted for Sarah. If only Peter
had voted for Sarah. Peter got four votes so he was the
first castaway.
