November 1:
Samburu won the luxury
challenge--57 year old, Kim lost it for Boran--but Samburu
lost the immunity challenge. The luxury challenge was a
food challenge, and Samburu got all kinds of cooking aids--oils,
seasonings, even jam. However, they said that they would
trade it all for water, since hauling and boiling water
is a major hassle.
When it came
time for Samburu to vote, the older group decided to throw
their three votes to Silas, but in the end, Linda
was voted out.
On the Boran
tribe, Kim seems to be the weakest player. Kim said that
if Boran had lost the immunity challenge, she would have
been the one to go.
October 25:
The Boran tribe finally
won a challenge, both challenges, in fact. First, the tribes
had to push a big ball through an obstacle course to win
a 100 gallon tank of fresh water. The Samburu tribe lost
control of the ball a couple of times, and Boran won easily.
Next, for immunity,
the tribes had to build some sort of distress signal that
could be seen from the air. The best "SOS" would
win immunity. Again, Boran came out the winner.
In the Samburu
tribe, the younger people are still pitted against
the older people. The younger group made necklaces to prove
their solidarity. Silas is solidly with the younger group
now. The vote for banishment was split evenly with Carl
and Lindsey both receiving four votes. For a tiebreaker,
both Carl and Lindsey were asked a series of questions about
Africa and survival, the first to get more questions right
would remain. Carl missed three questions (while Lindsey
only missed two), and Carl
was banished.
October
18: The
Boran Tribe lost both the luxury challenge (blankets,
food and so on) and the Immunity challenge (i.e., drinking
blood). Jessie Camacho
was the second person to be voted off. Jessie had a hard
time drinking water, and she was vomiting a lot. So, Jessie
was perceived as a weak contestant and was voted off. Clarence
got two votes.
Alliances are beginning to form in both tribes. The first
alliance in the Samburu Tribe
is between Frank, Carl, Teresa and Linda. Frank tried to
recruit Silas to be the fifth person in his alliance, and
although Silas agreed, Lindsey overheard them talking and
Silas spilled the beans about the alliance. As it stands,
the older group is pitted against the younger tribe members
in the Samburu Tribe.
October
11: The Boran Tribe
lost the first challenge. It was a close foot race, pulling
a cart. The reward was fire, a cool cart and the immunity
idol. The Samburu Tribe already had fire, but they did enjoy
the immunity idol.
The first one to be voted off was Diane
Ogden from Boran. Diane almost passed out after
the challenge, and she was the weakest tribe member. At
least two people voted for Clarence because he opened a
can of food without asking permission from the rest of the
group. But, despite Clarence's lack of consideration, Boran
kept Clarence because he is a strong guy.
