January 10:
Ethan wins $1,000,000. Kim came in second and wins $100,000.
Tom went first; then, Lex. In the end, only Brandon and
Kim P. voted for Kim J. The five others on the jury voted
for Ethan.
Kim won immunity
both times, first by answering a bunch of questions about
the other tribe members and second by standing on two poles
in 104 degree heat. With Kim having immunity, Tom was the
one to go--all three voted for Tom. Ethan said that he did
not stand a chance against Tom in the final, so he voted
Tom out. In the next round, Kim outlasted both Ethan and
Lex in a physical endurance test. So, Kim decided who she
wanted to face in the finals. She chose to keep Ethan. But,
in the end, Ethan won the grand prize, receiving five of
the seven votes of the jury.
January 3:
Lex was the superstar again, winning both the luxury challenge
and the immunity challenge. With Lex wearing the immunity
necklace, Teresa's plan to get Kim and Tom to vote Lex off
was spoiled. So, Teresa made a feeble attempt to try to
get Kim and Lex to vote Tom. Teresa tried to convince Lex
that Tom was not on his side. However, Teresa could not
pull it off, and she was voted out by the rest.
The reward challenge
was a puzzle. Lex won a big, blue Chevy truck (a Chevy Avalanche).
Then, the got to be an "ambassador of goodwill."
The truck was filled with a year's worth of medical supplies.
He took the medical supplies to Wamba Hospital, a hospital
for AIDS patients.
December 27:
Lex won the ultimate luxury challenge of an African Safari,
and he took Tom along with him in an effort to try to solidify
his bonds with Tom. It worked. Teresa tried to recruit Kim
J. and Tom to vote out Lex, but in the end, both Kim J.
and Tom refused to vote out Lex.
Much of the show
was devoted to Lex and Tom's African Safari. They received
the royal treatment with first class meals, liqueur and
lots of adventure.
The immunity
challenge involved breaking pots. Tom won immunity, and
I he think that he briefly contemplated voting for Lex.
However, in the end, Kim Powers received four votes, and
she was ousted. Teresa and Kim P. voted for Lex.
December 20:
Lex won immunity for a second time, so even though his alliance
with Brandon tarnished his sincerity, the whole tribe voted
for Frank to the be latest castaway. Even Teresa voted for
Frank. Frank voted for Kim Johnson because Teresa approached
Kim J. to form an alliance to vote out Ethan. At this point,
Ethan appears to be untouchable, as Kim J. refused to join
Teresa, Frank and Kim P. Teresa will continue to work on
Kim J., next week, to break her alliance and vote one of
the men out.
The immunity
challenge was a memory test. The tribe was told a story
and the first one to answer five questions correctly won.
Lex won, and Frank came in a close second.
The Luxury challenge
was not really a challenge. In stead, each tribe member
was given shillings, and they bid on food items. Kim P.
won two meals, but she sold one of her meals to Lex. Frank
and Teresa faired the worst, each splitting a hoagie.
